The thing is, anyone made Mickey into anything long before he went public domain. What this really benefit is just you have more freedom with his older design than his new one, so it's 'nothing' new with what people can do to this version of the character, other than the material.

Yeah,for a supposed cultur-icon, the people making parodies and the like are really lazy about it- and i don´t know if that speaks badly about the people or Disney´s significance over these past years.
